Prolific Nanaimo offender jailed for perplexing property crime
NANAIMO — A Nanaimo man will spend a month behind bars following a bizarre case of vandalism targeting the Parksville Post Office.
Boumann David Frances Thompson, 22, pleaded guilty to mischief under $5,000 for hurling several rocks through four post office windows around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, April 11. He also received one-year probation.
Oceanside RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman told NanaimoNewsNOW the crime was especially concerning since several staff members were inside the post office at the time.
“They didn’t know what’s going on, they didn’t know whether someone’s trying break in to harm them.”
