Kingsbury caps near-perfect World Cup season with dual moguls win
MEGEVE, France — Canadian freestyle ski star Mikael Kingsbury finished his near-perfect season with a win in Sunday’s season-ending World Cup dual moguls event.
Kingsbury finished on top of the podium in seven of 10 World Cup moguls and dual moguls events this season, and finished second in the other three.
He finished the season with a career-best 940 points, 355 ahead of closest rival Dmitriy Reiherd of Kazakhstan, and for a second straight year won two Crystal Globes as moguls champion and overall freestyle skiing leader.
It was a strong finish to the season for Kingsbury. The 25-year-old from Deux-Montagnes, Que., also won his first Olympic gold medal last month at the Pyeongchang Winter Games.
