Car sinks in Cameron Lake after sliding off slick road
NANAIMO — RCMP say a frightening Hwy. 4 crash highlights the importance of driving with extra care this time of year.
Central Island Traffic Services RCMP Cpl. Mike Elston said a car with two Port Alberni women inside plunged into Cameron Lake Thursday night just after 8:30 p.m.
He told NanaimoNewsNOW the driver swerved on the slick road and over-corrected before ending up in the lake. Elston said thankfully neither women were injured.
“Until we get a good amount of rain and all of that residual stuff gets washed off the roads people really need to take care,” Elston said.
