Robert Zver – August 6th, 1963 – January 6th, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Zver announces his passing on January 6, 2024. Robert passed away after a very short battle with cancer. Robert Zver was born and raised in Nanaimo, BC and spent his entire life in this beautiful city. Robert is survived by his three siblings: Mary LaBonte (Mark), Frank Zver (Joanne), Diane Bunnah (Norman), nieces Camille (Brendan), Tonia (Andrew), Samantha (CJ) and nephews Blake (Kyla), Kyle and Jacob (Sarah) and many great nieces and nephews. Robert worked at School District 68, Cupe 606 combined for over 33 years. He retired as President of Cupe 606 in 2021. Robert volunteered for United Way for many years as well. We would like to thank Dr. MacGillivray and the other doctors and nurses at NRGH for making Robert feel comfortable during his final days. There will be a celebration of life for Robert on Saturday March 9, 2024 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256, 1630 E Wellington road, Nanaimo, from 3:00-7:00 PM. Donations can be made to the NRGH on Robert’s behalf.
