FEBRUARY 6, 1939 ~ APRIL 26, 2019 (AGE 80)
Doris Terretta passed peacefully on April 26, 2019. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John and their four children David (Sonja), Lorraine (Brad), Carol and Keith (Michelle). She was so proud of her grandchildren David, Laura, Olivia, Tyson, Owen and Rachel. They gave her great joy. Doris is predeceased by her dear sister Jean Simpson. She is lovingly remembered by Jean’s children Lee Anne (Anthony), Jackie (Russ), John (Kathy).
Born in Blackpool, England, Doris and John immigrated to Canada in 1960. She was a devoted Mother, a talented seamstress, an avid crafter and an accomplished baker. Doris shared her many talents by volunteering in the community, church and working at The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Qualicum Beach. She loved to be involved in groups such as Ladies Stitch and Chat in Edmonton, Weaving Guild in Millet, birthday luncheons in Parksville and weekly swimming classes in Qualicum Beach. An avid cyclist, a personal achievement included cycling Banff to Jasper when she turned 60 years old.
Warm, gentle and affectionate, Doris always offered a beautiful smile, listening ear and deep, loving glance to ease any worries. She will be missed by the many people she touched through her compassion and caring ways.
The family wishes to thank Brittany from Comfort Keepers, Island Health Home Support Team and staff at Eagle Park Health Care Facility in Qualicum Beach.
Donations can be made in Doris’ name to The Salvation Army
