AUGUST 26, 1951 ~ MARCH 16, 2019 (AGE 67)
It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Earl James St John.
After a short battle with cancer Earl was called up home. He was predeceased by his parents Wilfred Earl and Theresa Marie, brother in law John Clouston and his in-laws Willard and Thelma Nordmarken.
Earl leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years and 3 months, Gale; children Jamie (Wes) and Gordon St John; stepchildren Aaron (Jenny) Franks, Rory (Michelle) Franks and Curtis vanDyk; grandchildren Karl Jr., Hannah, Paige, Caleb, Willard and Sarah; his siblings Evelyn (Bazil), Morris (Sarah), Sandra (Eugene) and June (John-deceased), aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dearest friends.
Earl enjoyed hockey (his favourite team- Montreal Canadiens), curling, pool, fishing, softball and he found a new love – Black Powder. He worked as a truck driver, but his main occupation was working in the shingle mills both as sawyer and packer. He had a special love for animals, but his favourite was his cat “Miley”. He loved people in general, but he had a special kind of love for his grandchildren, that just can’t be explained.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 30th, 2019 – 1:00 PM at Grace Point Ministries – 3072 – 4th Avenue, Port Alberni. Fellowship to follow. If so desired, donations in Earl’s memory may be made to the SPCA, West Coast Rangers or Grace Point Ministries.
