Obituary

Linda Mae Rathbone (Prudhomme) passed in the early morning of January 28, 2020 at the age of 85 supported by the caring West Coast General Hospital nursing staff. Linda was surrounded by family and friends during her hospitalization.

Linda continued to work with ‘her girls at the shop’ and living independently weeks before her illness. Linda worked for many years at the Plywood plant where she was a shop steward. Linda was one of the first women to be offered a Forman position however she declined so that she could spend more time with her family and the children they fostered. Along with her work, she was also a member of the Royal Purple.

Linda was predeceased by her husband John Rathbone, partner Gino Pavan, sisters Lila, Laurie and son-in-law Arnold. Linda is survived by her sister Lee (Bob), children Lynne, David, Dan (Jody) and Doug (Jen), her best friends Lauren and Julie, grandchildren Brent (Amanda), Marty(Kelly), Jake(Rhea), Kaitlyn(Jacob), Lance, Reanin (Colin), Austin, Ava, many great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Grandma loved to “spoil” all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Donations are welcomed to the Fir Park and Echo Village Foundation, a charity close to her heart. A special thanks to Dr. Herman Nell for his ongoing care for Linda for many years.

A family gathering will be held at a later date.
