Lyle Michael Percevault, June 9, 1949 – May 31, 2026
Lyle Michael Percevault June 9, 1949 to May 31, 2026 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lyle Michael Percevault. A fall resulting in some broken ribs which was easily survivable was followed by an unpredictable cascade of medical events that his body could not overcome. His heart and soul will live on in his broken-hearted wife Liz, his children Cory (Adria), Rhonda (Wade), Roy (Jenn), Liz’s daughter Phoebe, Grandchildren Cole, Sydney, Carson, Elliah, Karamiah, Tanni-J, Kylie, and Step Grandchildren Emily and Lucas. He was predeceased by his brother Brian (1998) (Linda & Terry) and his brother from another mother Joe Iturraspe (2025) (Marilyn). He is also survived by his brother Bruce (Pam), sisters Margo (Jaime) and Gloria (Jim) and loved by many cousins, nephews and nieces including Brian’s daughter Michelle (Randy) who he had a special relationship with after we lost Brian. Lyle led a full and productive life, starting as a Millwright in Thasis before progressing to a supervisory position with the City of Nanaimo. He moved through the management ranks ending his career as Project Manager for new construction with the City; including the Nanaimo Aqautic Centre, the Nanaimo Ice Centre and the RCMP facilities expansion. He loved this phase of his employment and was almost reluctant to retire. He didn’t slow down in retirement. He spent three months touring western Europe before settling into his retirement routine of seven months as a Snowbird; five in an RV resort in Mesa, Arizona bookending January and February in Boca Beach, Jalisco, Mexico. In traveling to and from these locations he has circumnavigated Mexico, the USA and his beloved Canada. In his retirement he moved to his cabin at Horne Lake. He loved living off the grid, relying on solar, batteries and generators. He especially enjoyed keeping his lot spotless with the latest environmentally friendly battery powered tools. His yard was the envy of the neighborhood. Where ever he was in his world, he was always helping someone with a project from plumbing, electrical or painting to building decks, docks and renovations. He has lived a full life but left many dreams unfulfilled. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. In lieu of flowers and if you wish, please consider giving the life saving gift of blood through Canadian Blood Services in his name.
