JULY 18, 1938 ~ DECEMBER 1, 2018 (AGE 80)
James “Jim” Moody, 80, of Lantzville, B.C., passed away peacefully on December 1st, 2018 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Predeceased by his parents, Roland and Jessie and his sister, Marlene. Jim is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Julie (Gerry) Tutte, Teresa Moody and Willow (David) Affleck; brothers, Terry, Gordon, Peter and Tom; sisters, Elizabeth, Deborah, and Elaine; as well as his grandchildren, Rebecca (Teresa), Jaclyn (Julie), William and Tommy (Willow); and great grandson, Dean (Jaclyn).
Jim grew up in Victoria where he was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a catcher for Victoria Bates Fastball club and he loved to coach and teach fastball to any and all who were interested. Jim made a name as a singer with the Wayward Trio during the 60’s, teaming up with Bob Faulds and Bill Hodgson who both predeceased him. The group sang at various venues in B.C. with the most notable in Hudson Hope.
Jim and Joan moved to Calgary in 1983 where he was a well-known real estate developer. His crowning glory was in Chestermere where he was involved in a housing golf course development. Golf was their passion and whenever time allowed, they vacationed in Arizona to enjoy the numerous golf courses. One of their favourite holidays was a trip to Ireland in 2006 to watch the Ryder Cup.
Jim will be missed by many friends, family members, and his beloved Buster. We are comforted in knowing that he is at peace and free of pain.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the late spring 2019 in Victoria, B.C.
