Cali Joy Manzevich, March 14, 1964 – January 18, 2026
CALI JOY MANZEVICH It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Cali Joy Manzevich (Cal) on January 18, 2026. Born March 14, 1964, in Edmonton, Alberta, she was predeceased by her father William. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Myrl, sister Devi Grace (Norm), her Uncle Marc. Auntie Anne Allison and extended family. Bahniuk and Manzevich cousins, and her many dear friends. A longtime resident of Vancouver Island, Cali lived life on her own terms, living up to her middle name—Joy—through her loving attention to serving and caring for others. Even in the face of her illness, she provided continuous service to her longtime Nanaimo and Lantzville customers of the Victoria Times Colonist. She was an avid member of the Nanaimo badminton and pickleball communities. Of special mention was her love of all aspects of music. Most recently how she reacted “like a kid in a candy store” when invoking the healing power of Taiko drumming through Uminari Taiko in Victoria. We are filled with sincere gratitude to all those who have supported Cali and her family. We send a special thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Nanaimo Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion. All medical personnel at Nanaimo Regional and Victoria General Hospitals. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 2174 Departure Bay Road in Nanaimo.
