Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of our mother just ten days short of her 86th birthday. After not feeling well for some time, seemingly with just a cold, she finally decided to seek medical help. She was admitted to the hospital on March 11th and soon diagnosed with pneumonia and lung cancer which had caused a collapsed lung. Only nine days later, she took a turn for the worse and there was nothing more that could be done. She passed peacefully with two of her sons by her side.
Left to mourn are her sons – Michael (Lynn), Parksville; Steven, Ottawa; and Rick, Vancouver. Her grandchildren – Camille, Will (Kendra), Kerry (Alissa Hogan), Nick (Patricia Houle), and Alex. Her great-grandchildren – Ronnie Teeter, Skyler Kelly, Ethan & Asher Boville, Damon & Donovan Holloway, and Hunter Houle-Holloway. As well, sister-in-law, Marjorie (Jack) Lalonde, Bowmanville; brother, Roger Lesperance, Thuro; and numerous other relatives, friends and neighbours.
Eileen is predeceased by her parents, Aime & Florence Lesperance; brother, Ernie; daughter, Penny Newell; husband, Ab; and great-granddaughter, Ransom, just days before.
She loved life, laughter, friends and family and she had been a second mother to so many people. She was a model of resilience, tenacity, independence, loyalty and was good-natured. She was a talented crafter/sewer and was known for her many life stories that she shared with all who knew her.
The family would like to acknowledge the McMurray family and her many neighbors of the Falcon Mobile Home Park in Comox for their kindness and care over the years.
There will be no service at this time due to issues with the COVID-19 virus. If you would be interested in participating in a gathering in the future or wish to send your condolences to the family, please contact Michael Holloway at mlholloway@shaw.ca or #4-100 Abbey Ln, Parksville, BC, V9P 1N4.
