Edward Brett Davidson – November 9th, 1982 – August 27th, 2022
It is with profound sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Edward Brett Davidson, known to his family and friends as Brett. A grandson, son, brother, nephew, cousin and beloved friend, Brett will be remembered for his warm smile, infectious laughter, and unrivaled zest for life. Curious and creative, with interests that included forging, smoking meats, ‘farm to table’ cooking, and spirits. Brett was passionate about living life to the fullest and pursuing things that brought joy to his life and the lives of friends and family. From uncovering new hobbies to travelling the world, serving his country in the Navy, and spending time in the great outdoors, Brett never let fear of the unknown hold him back. Among his many interests, BMX and basketball were the most important sports throughout his life. Basketball being the oldest and favourite pastime, whether during his time as a player, coach, or spectator, it was a continuous source of joy and connection. Brett’s life revolved around his close-knit family and many friends. Always one to speak from the heart, with integrity, compassion and pride, Brett was quick to spark debate and encourage conversation. His kind-hearted demeanour, yet competitive nature, drew people in to get to know him. A respectful grandson, loving son, profound older brother, and caring confidant, his open and honest words of wisdom were sure to influence those to live life to the fullest, lead by example, and stand up for what is right. His sudden and tragic loss has left a void in the hearts of all of us. A Celebration of Life will be hosted on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, at 1:00pm at the Nanaimo Golf Club. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial donations can be made in Brett’s name, to KidSport or the BC SPCA. A special thank you to the to the owners and staff at F45 Training, who assisted Brett; first responders; medical staff; the Calgary police; and the overwhelming love and support from family and friends.
