MARCH 6, 1958 ~ JANUARY 15, 2019 (AGE 60)
Brian Warren Brick, born March 6, 1958. Brian passed away with loved ones by his side on January 15, 2019, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his sister Catherine Brick, and father Alfred Brick. Survived by wife Jan, daughter Janelle Brick (Brandon) and son Nyles Brick, Brothers, Reg Brick and Nephew Eryn and Dave Brick (Sherry). Mother, Angeline Brick, Uncles, Emile Nobert, Roger (Eva) Nobert, Wesley Brick and extended family Alison (Trevor), Josh (Kelly), Ben (Heidi) and grandchildren Theo and Mae.
Brian was proud to have lived in Cherry Creek in the home his parents built. He took pride in his work as an electrician, carrying on the family business from his father and had such a loyal customer base, he never had to advertise. He volunteered for the Cherry Creek Fire Department for 35 years and had the honourable distinction of being the longest serving Deputy Fire Chief in the history of the department. He forged a large group of friends, many of whom he met in his childhood. If Brian wasn’t working, spending time with his family, or firefighting, he was at the golf course, fishing down the canal or searching for chanterelles. What ever he was busy doing, you would always find him with a smile on his face, and laughter from those around him. His amazing sense of humour will be one of his many legacies that people will miss most; and remember about Brian.
A special thank you to our Palliative Nurse, Colleen Doll, Dr. Wendy Johnsen, our friend, Dr. Terry Meadows and the rest of Brian’s medical team.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cherry Creek Community Hall, 3720 Moore Road – Saturday, January 26, 2019 @ 2:00pm.
