Anne Bradley Barlow, November 1, 1937 – June 20, 2025
In loving memory of Anne Bradley Barlow (1937-2025) Anne Bradley Barlow (nee Dennis-Anne Bradley) passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, surrounded by family in Nanaimo, B.C. Anne, known as Denny to her American friends and family, was born November 1,1937 in Portland, Oregon. She attended Willamette University and worked for the Oregon School for the Blind then later Applied Technologies in California, where she met and married the love of her life, Bruce Ronald Barlow. After moving to Canada in 1969, Annie (as she was known to her Nanaimo gang) trained as an LPN in Nanaimo, B.C. and worked at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital then Westcoast Occupational Therapy in Vancouver. Anne loved life, animals, music and most of all spending time with her friends and family. She had a sense of humor that continually caught us all off guard and kept everyone laughing. She was active in politics, volunteering for the Conservative party in both Provincial and Federal Elections and passionately followed local and world affairs. From San Francisco to Nanaimo, Richmond, Whiterock then back to Nanaimo and Gabriola, Anne made every house a welcoming home. Anne is predeceased by her parents, Jo-Allen and Paul Bradley, brothers, Bill and James, and husband of 53 years, Bruce Ronald Barlow. Anne is survived and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Jayne (Jerome) and Kirsten (Stefan), grandchildren, Kaleb (Nancy), Abby (Harb), Isabelle, and Alexander and her nieces Cathy, Sharon, Laura, Jennifer and nephew, Michael. Anne’s family is grateful for all of her loving friends in California and British Columbia, and the caring staff at Wexford Creek Seniors Community. A celebration of life will be planned for August 2025 (date tbc). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CNIB or the Oregon School for the Blind, or other charity of your choice.
