January 18, 1939 ~ December 27, 2019 (age 80)
After a short battle with cancer, Ron passed away in Parksville with his wife Sue by his side.
Born in Matsqui, B.C. (Abbotsford), Ron was the youngest of 7 children and is survived by his brothers Vic (Jean) of Abbotsford and Les (Ivy) of Surrey. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews.
Ron moved to Salmon Arm in 1969. In 1978 Ron & Sue married and built a beautiful home at Gordon Lake, where they lived in paradise until moving to Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island in 2015.
Over the years, Sue introduced Ron to the world of travel which took them on many incredible adventures all over the world.
Ron retired after 28 years as a dry kiln operator at Federal Co-op in Canoe. During retirement they loved the snowbird lifestyle and spent many winters travelling to Arizona and 45 other U.S. states along the way. Around every corner, another adventure was Ron’s motto.
Ron’s love of old cars always meant that half the travel mileage was in reverse driving back to check out something that caught his eye in a field or behind an old barn. He loved to take his ’35 red Ford pick up to explore the roads less travelled.
Very special thank to all our friends and family who made his life so much richer. The support you have given both of us over the last two months will never be forgotten.
At Ron’s request, there will be no service.
