NANAIMO — In the BCIHL last night the VIU Men’s Hockey Team improved to 5-3-0-1 on the season after a 7-2 win over their Island rivals the University of Victoria.

Forward Dallas Calvin led the way with 5 points (2G,3A). The Mariners are back on the ice next Saturday at home against SFU.

In the VIJHL last night the Oceanside Generals fell 6-1 to Campbell River on home ice. The Generals are back on the ice Friday at home against Comox Valley.

Game time is 7 PM at Oceanside Place.

Some mixed results for the VIU Men’s and Women’s Volleyball squads on Saturday. The Men fell to Douglas College in straight sets (22-25, 19-25, 21-25).

Meanwhile the Women dominated Douglas College to win in straight sets and remain undefeated on the season (25-14,25-15,25-14).

The VIU Women’s Soccer Team will play in the Placement match this morning at the CCAA Nationals in Coquitlam. The Women take on NAIT at 9 AM.
