Stabbing in Harewood leaves man with ‘life-threatening’ injuries

NANAIMO — One man is in custody and another has life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in Harewood.

Nanaimo RCMP said they were called to a townhouse complex on Fifth St. around 2 a.m. on March 31 and found a 25-year-old man who had been stabbed several times.

Bloody clothes were strewn on the ground near a pool of blood in the parking lot of the Sanala townhouse complex early Saturday morning. The complex was formerly known as King Arthur Court.

Mounties said they arrested a man nearby and he remains in custody pending a court appearance.

The victim was taken to Nanaimo Hospital with what police described as “serious life threatening” injuries.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers. No further details were given and RCMP said their investigation was still in its early stages.
