QUALICUM BEACH — The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) expects an old bridge at Little Qualicum River Regional Park to be torn down by Monday (Sept. 17).

The bridge in the Dashwood area north of Qualicum Beach was damaged in 2014 and has been closed off since.

The RDN’s manager of parks services Wendy Marshall said installing a new bridge is still a long way off.

“We’re in our budget process right now of looking at all of the projects for next year. It will take quite a few months going through the committee’s to determine what we will be doing next year,” Marshall told NanaimoNewsNOW.
