NANAIMO — Bras will be brought out of the drawer and hung in Beban Park to help both a local womens shelter and promote breast cancer awareness.
On Monday, Aug. 7, Haven Society and the Canadian Cancer Foundation will collect new or gently used bras and hang them as Beban Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s to promote the CIBC Run for the Cure, happening on Oct 1.
Haven Society will also use the bras at their houses in Nanaimo and Parksville for women seeking shelter, safety and support.
