Teen dies after night in Alberni RCMP Cells

A girl died after spending a night in Port Alberni RCMP custody.

The BC Coroners Service reports 18 year old Jocelyn Nynah Marsha George was taken to police cells Thursday, June 23 and found in medical distress the next morning.

She was flown to hospital in Victoria and died later that night.

An investigation by the Coroner and Independent Investigations Office is ongoing.
