Janyne B. Sinclaire, November 28, 1946 – April 24, 2026
Janyne B Sinclaire (November 28, 1946 – April 24, 2026), is lovingly remembered by her niece, Kimberly Thibault, grandniece, Jasmin, and grandnephew, J David, and sister-in-law, Trish Yates, in Grande Prairie and cousin, Laurie Chapman, in Kamloops. On the island, Jo-Anne Dundas, Arlene Bishop, Marian Roper, Carol and Peter Vickers, are missing a precious friend. Janyne grew up in Calgary, AB and still has loving friends from around there, Kathryn and John Richmond and Karen Weinhold. Janyne was happiest around horses and appreciated her “herd” with Deborah Marshall of Generation Farms. Janyne was a social worker with the Province of BC and made many deep connections with her colleagues there. Her canasta group was made up of these folks, Billie, Lucille and Jo-Anne. She trained to become a professional life coach and her ability to deeply listen and ask thoughtful questions was a gift to those she coached. Her little home on Oakley Avenue a haven, where she puttered in her garden, hung out with her cats and enjoyed her space. Her neighbour, Jennifer, became a special friend through sharing Inky and lots of laughs. Janyne built a chosen family, loving them with all her heart. Her early losses of her parents and her brother, Dave, had her appreciate the people around her even more. Her big smile, warm presence and love of all things dark chocolate will remain with us. A special thank you goes to Michelle and Aimee from Care and Company in Nanaimo, who filled the last year and especially the last few weeks with love and care for her. A celebration of her life will be held towards the end of June. For details on that, you can contact carol(at)carolvickers.com
