Wildfire concerns move blood donor clinic from Port Alberni to Nanaimo

NANAIMO — Due to wildfire conditions near Port Alberni, Canadian blood services have had to cancel a planned mobile donor centre event scheduled there for this week.

Instead, the mobile donor centre will be in Nanaimo from June 27-29 at the Beban Park Social Centre, at 2300 Bowen Rd.

Doors will be open to donors from noon until 6:45 p.m. for all three days.

If you had an appointment scheduled for Port Alberni, you can re-book your appointment for Nanaimo by visiting blood.ca or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283).

Canadian Blood Services is also asking donors and potential donors who are eligible in Nanaimo to book an appointment to help replenish blood supplies.
