VIDEO: Good Samaritan knocks down boat fire on Nanaimo’s waterfront
NANAIMO — A fire was quickly contained on a sailboat docked at the Cameron Island Marina.
Nanaimo FIre Rescue (NFR) assistant chief Troy Libbus said a Good Samaritan used an extinguisher to douse flames impacting an unoccupied boat on Friday, Oct. 7.
“Crews pulled a line, gained access and realized it was a small fire in the engine compartment….We just had our Fire Loss Prevention look into it and they’re still trying to determine the cause of the fire,”
Libbus told NanaimoNewsNOW.
Nobody was injured, Libbus confirmed.
