CHILLIWACK — The Clippers moved into a share of top spot in the Coastal Division with a 3-2 overtime win against the Coquiltam Express.

Sean Donaldson scored both Nanaimo goals in regulation time as he raised his team leading goalie tally to six.

He scored in the first minute of the game and then on an early second period power play.

Both goals gave Nanaimo the lead in a game which they never trailed.

Just two minutes into overtime Keighan Gerrie snapped a puck behind Connor Mackenzie to move the Clippers record to 5-1 to start the season.

Goalie Cooper Black upped his personal record to 5-0 stopping 36 of 38 shots in the contest.

The Clippers were outshot 38-21 but won the special teams battle by going 1/3 on the man advantage and 5/5 killing penalties.

The Clippers finished 1-1 at the Showcase and move on to a busy week with three games.

Nanaimo hosts Alberni Valley on Oct. 27 with matchups in Trail on Oct. 29 and at Cranbrook Oct. 30.
