Provincial weekend COVID-19 cases pace below 100 per day, 12 in Island Health
NANAIMO — Three weeks removed from the launch of B.C.’s restart plan, active COVID-19 cases are continuing their march down.
A joint statement from public health and the province reported 277 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed over the weekend, an average of less than 100 from the three reporting periods.
Island Health reported 12 new cases over the weekend including one in the central Island.
Active cases in the health authority dropped marginally, down 1 to 56 with seven active on the central Island. A majority of the new and currently active cases are in the south Island.
