NANAIMO — Chants of “Black Lives Matter” filled downtown Nanaimo for the second event in two weeks protesting for change.

More than 100 people carried signs high and chanted loudly during the peaceful march from Maffeo Sutton Park to Nanaimo City Hall on Saturday, Jun. 13.

Protesters rallied in front of City Hall and listened to numerous speakers, including organizer Lexy Kriegel, Nanaimo coun. Zeni Maartman and Snuneymuxw First Nation coun. Doug White.
