Meet the lovable adopted dog who acted as a support animal in a time of need

NANAIMO — Each week we feature animals currently awaiting adoption at the Nanaimo SPCA.

Thankfully there are no animals currently in care, so we’re taking a look at animals which were adopted and have found their forever homes.

Pooh Bear was adopted in mid-2015 when he was five-years-old and couldn’t have come into his owners lives at a better time.

As his owner Marlene says, Pooh Bear was adopted roughly one year before her husband passed away.

“I could not have made it through without Pooh Bear giving me a reason to go on every day,” Marlene said. “He is my light and love and my companion. I am blessed and grateful.”

Now 10, Pooh Bear still has lots of life in him and love to give.

More than 700 animals were adopted from the Nanaimo SPCA in 2019.
