Five new COVID-19 fatalities recorded across B.C., no new cases confirmed for Vancouver Island

NANAIMO — The long weekend is getting started in a tragic fashion.

The ministry of health and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced five additional COVID-19 fatalities on Friday, May 15. Four were in the Fraser Health region and one in Vancouver Coastal Health.

This brings the number of fatalities in the province due to COVID-19 to 140.

A total of five people have lost their lives on Vancouver Island.
