COVID-19 cases in the Island Heath Region increase to 97, as province continues to battle the pandemic

NANAIMO — There have been three new cases of COVID-19 reported on Vancouver Island in the past 24 hours.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry made the announcement on Saturday, April 18 in Victoria.

The additional cases now brings the total to 97 in the Island Health Region.

Across the province, the number of confirmed cases jumped by 29 cases to 1,647. However the number of people who have fully recovered from the virus also increased to 987.
