PARKSVILLE — Roaring 20’s emerged as the design theme for this summer’s world renowned sand sculpting competition on Parksville Beach.

The Parksville Beach Festival Society announced the winning theme among three choices for the competition and exhibition taking place July 9 through Aug. 16.

The Society said more than 50 per cent of 733 people responding to an online survey chose the Roaring 20’s theme, outranking Topsy Turvey and Celebrate.

115,200 people viewed 22 world class sand sculptures in 2019, marking the sixth straight year attendance figures surpassed the 100,000 mark.
