NANAIMO — One person has died and another sent to hospital after a single vehicle crash along Nanaimo Lakes Road on Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., a car travelling along Nanaimo Lakes Road left the roadway and hit a tree just east of the intersection with South Forks Road.
RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien says investigators are on scene to determine a cause.
“We’ll be looking at a number of factors and the most evident of which would be weather,” O’Brien said. “The roads were wet, there are a lot of bends in that road and it was raining at the time.”
