OCTOBER 18, 1939 ~ AUGUST 1, 2019 (AGE 79)
Patricia (Pat) passed away peacefully surrounded by love on August 1, 2019. She was born in Edmonton, Alberta on October 18, 1939, to Roy and Florence Mills.
She trained and worked as a comptometrist and married Gerald Haddow in October 1959. They quickly had 3 children and Pat managed her busy life and an apartment building. The family moved multiple times in Alberta and BC before settling in North Delta in 1970. Shortly after, she separated from her husband and raised 3 children on her own. She committed to this challenge with an energy unsurpassed by most of us. She ensured her children were always fed, in clean clothes, and lived in a well-maintained home, sometimes working 2 jobs to do so.
She developed skills to renovate her homes and took pride in her ability to paint and lay tiles. She had creative vision when landscaping and her yard always looked welcoming. People marvelled at her energy and bubbly personality. She loved dancing and rock music most of all, she loved her dogs and felt their loss deeply.
She is survived by her brother Mervin Mills (Rae) and her children Cheryl (Mark), Teresa (George), and Darrell (Carolyn), granddaughters Crystal, Alexandra and Brianna, great grand-daughter Savannah and nephew Jeff (Ann) and several other friends and family members.
The family gives heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the caring staff of the Brio Suites in Berwick on the Lake who made her feel so special in her last months. A private service will be held in Alberta in October.
