Nanaimo RCMP have released details on a pair of drug busts last week.

On Monday the 20th, they responded to a home in the 500 block of Dundas Street.

Corporal Jon Stuart says there had been a report of a man carrying a rifle.

“The members attended to the house as the result of a search warrant and arrested a whole bunch of people and taken out several firearms from the residence. There was also drugs seized at that residence as a result of their search,“ said Stuart.

On Thursday the 23rd, armed with a warrant, officers and the Emergency Response Unit went into a known drug house in the 400 block of Nicol Street.

“Any time that you have drugs there is a higher likelihood that there are firearms involved as well. So we knew that there was going to be a higher risk to this incident. A search warrant was granted and the members did respond with the emergency response team to make sure that everybody was safe. That was the reason for the involvement of the emergency response team.”

Along with assorted drugs, some weapons and cash were seized in the two incidents.

Four people are currently facing charges.
