Clippers and Capitals make massive six player BCHL trade
NANAIMO — You have to go back to the summer of 2011 for the last time the Nanaimo Clippers made a blockbuster deal.
Back then the Fitzgerald triplets and Jesse Ursic left Nanaimo for Prince George in exchange for Trevor Fitzgerald, Josh Bryan, and Scott Milnthorp.
This week the Clippers have made a six player swap with their rivals from Cowichan Valley.
Coming to the Harbour City are Nicholas Wilson, Ethan Scardina, and Jonathan Stein.
In exchange the Clippers have sent David Melaragni, Lucas Vanroboys, and Preston Brodziak to Duncan.
All six players should play key roles on their new clubs and will undoubtedly heat up the Nanaimo versus Cowichan Valley rivalry.
Wilson has the most experience of any player in the deal with 112 junior a games under his belt.
He has 30 points in two seasons and posted career highs with ten goals and eight assists in 2017-18.
