Clippers add Victory Honda captain Tim Washe for 18-19 season
NANAIMO — The newest Clipper is Victory Honda U18 captain Tim Washe.
The 17-year-old had 31 points in 27 games with the Michigan based club in the 2018-19 campaign.
Washe is a centreman but says he can also play the wing.
“I’m very excited, just happy to be a part of the team. I’m ready and can’t wait for the start of the season.”
Even though he hasn’t played a game of Junior A yet Washe has already commited to play Division 1 NCAA hockey at Western Michigan University.
He’s slated to go to school for the 2020-2021 season.
When Washe gets to Nanaimo for main camp in August he’ll know at least one player already.
He’s played against the Clippers Tyler Williams before, and the two have already had a chance to speak about what’s to come for the next Junior A hockey season.
The Clippers are banking on Washe being able to translate his offensive game from the U18 level to the BCHL.
If he can come anywhere close to the type of production that Williams had coming out of Michigan last year, Clipper fans will be thrilled with the new addition.
