2 people dead, 1 injured after stabbing in Surrey, B.C., leads to police shooting
SURREY — Homicide investigators and British Columbia’s police watchdog have been called in to investigate after a stabbing in Surrey, B.C., left one person dead and another injured, and led to a police-involved shooting of the suspect.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says officers with the Surrey Police Service responded to reports of an assault around 1 p.m. on Friday and found two people suffering from stab wounds.
It says a 55-year-old man died of his injuries at the scene despite life-saving efforts, while the second victim — a 35-year-old woman — was brought to hospital for treatment.
IHIT says officers found the stabbing suspect nearby and the interaction ended with shots being fired by police.
