Pater faces new charges

Convicted pedophile Shaun Pater is facing a dozen more charges.

The 46-year old appeared by video in Port Alberni law courts from the Vancouver Island Correctional Centre on Wednesday, accused of communicating, procuring, and trafficking in persons under the age of 18 for sexual purposes.

Pater was already facing 15 charges related to sexually abusing minors, along with co-accused Terry Houbregs and Wayne Moore.

He was sentenced to 30 days jail for breaching his probation by contacting two of his alleged victims.
