Clippers pump in seven goals to beat Kings

NANAIMO — The Clippers offense is rolling to start 2026.

Nanaimo is on a three game winning streak and the team has put up 21 goals in the last three hockey games.

In the first home outing of 2026 the Clippers went down 1-0 in the first period and then scored six of the next seven goals to win 7-2 over Powell River.

Hayden Fechner led the offense with four points including his first BCHL hat trick.

Caden Okovita had three assists, while Jack Rimmer and Blake Jones recorded two assists and Landon Pappas picked up one goal and one assist.

The other Nanaimo goals were scored by Patrick Fortune, Tanner Bruender and Will Subject.

Eliot Compton and Erik Wittwer netted the Powell River tallies.

It was an impressive night for the Clippers power play going 3/7 while their penalty kill was 4/5.

Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau took the win in net over the Kings Erik Powers.

Nanaimo outshot Powell River 39-29.

The Clippers now have a 3-0 record against the Kings as they move on to another home game against another divisional opponent in the Victoria Grizzlies on Jan. 10.
