Gas leak shuts down portion of Nanaimo’s Terminal Ave
NANAIMO — A busy block near downtown Nanaimo is temporarily closed due to a natural gas leak caused by a car striking a gas meter.
Nanaimo RCMP Res. Cst. Gary O’Brien said the gas leak forced the full closure of a section of Terminal Ave north of the Townsite Rd. intersection.
“It will be shut down for at least two hours,” O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW on Tuesday, Oct 14, at 2:30 p.m.
He said detours are in place, while police noted a two-vehicle crash caused the gas line break.
