Water levels in Englishman River force stage 4 restrictions in Parksville
PARKSVILLE — Despite a decided shift to fall on the mid-Island over the last couple of weeks, water resources in parts of the Oceanside region remains scarce.
The City of Parksville announced stage four water restrictions would be put in place effective Monday, Sept. 23, due in large part to average flows in the Englishman River falling below 1.20 cubic metres per second
A statement from the City said they are under an Enabling Order, requiring them to maintain minimum flow levels.
“There has been a significant shortfall in precipitation over the summer which has continued into September. The province has requested water providers reduce water usage by implementing stricter watering conditions.”
