Nanaimo man charged with sexually assaulting youth in Alberta

NANAIMO — A man from Nanaimo faces serious charges after police in Alberta accuse him of luring and sexually assaulting a youth in Airdrie, AB.

Airdrie RCMP began the investigation on June 12 after a report of a youth being sexually assaulted, with police stating that during the investigation the youth had been lured on social media prior to the alleged assault.

Callum Tanner Stewart, 29, of Nanaimo is facing charges for child luring, sexual assault, and fail to comply with a release order.

He is currently in custody and will appear before a judge in Calgary on Monday, June 24.
