VIDEO: Dover Bay senior boys basketball team recognized at school rally
NANAIMO — In the end, unwavering determination and skill shone through for the Dover Bay Dolphins senior boys basketball squad.
On Wednesday, April 3 a school-wide assembly and banner-raising ceremony paid tribute to the provincial senior 3A championship title winners, who defeated the Abbotsford’s MEI Eagles 75-61 at Langley Events Centre last month.
It was a season of redemption for the Dolphins, who were edged out by nine points in the championship game at the same tournament to Vancouver’s Saint Patrick Celtics.
Standout guard Frank Linder won the division’s most valuable player award at provincials. The 6’7” eleventh grader said their returning players leaned on their experience from last year’s bitter defeat.
