NANAIMO – Significant sales increase in February.

In February, 66 single-family homes sold in Nanaimo, a 65 per cent increase from January and a 10 per cent increase from the previous year. Active listings of single-family homes on the Mid-Island were 915 in February, down 2 per cent from the previous year.

The average price for a single-family home in Nanaimo was $839,958 in February, up 4 per cent from the previous month and 6 per cent from February 2023.

These are the benchmark numbers for Nanaimo in February 2024, as well as central and northern Vancouver Island:

  • Nanaimo’s benchmark price decreased to $787,000, a slight increase from last month and a 6 per cent increase from the previous year.
  • Campbell River’s benchmark price for single-family homes was $661,600, up 9 per cent from the previous year.
  • Comox Valley’s benchmark price increased by 8 per cent from last year to $829,500.
  • Cowichan Valley reported a benchmark price of $749,900, up 5 per cent from February 2023.
  • The Parksville-Qualicum area increased 3 per cent from the last year to $845,700.
  • Port Alberni’s benchmark increased 9 per cent from last year to $528,400.
  • The North Island area decreased 4 per cent last year with a benchmark price of $392,100, the only decrease on the Mid-Island.
