Lights return to Johnston Rd

The city has announced the return of Christmas lights over Johnston Road.

In a press release sent out late yesterday, City CAO Mike Fox said they have received temporary approvals from the Province to install a limited light display on Johnston in time for the holidays.

The display could have a couple of the larger light features where guide wires are strong enough to provide 6 metres of clearance, but lines that would droop below that mark will just have light strands strung across.

The lighting plan was halted in October after the city repeatedly failed to apply for provincial permits.

City crews will begin installing lights next week.
