VICTORIA — It’ll be a roar in 2024 on southern Vancouver Island when the BC Lions take on the Ottawa Redblacks next Labour Day long weekend.

The Canadian Football League, BC Lions and City of Victoria announced Touchdown Pacific will see the two CFL teams meet up on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Victoria’s Royal Athletic Park.

A BC Lions news release stated Touchdown Pacific will see expanded seating of between 10,000 and 14,000, including standing room, created at Royal Athletic Park just outside downtown Victoria.

“Touchdown Pacific was born out of a desire to strengthen the ties between Canadian football and another corner of our amazing country, and we look forward to an incredible event next year,” stated CFL commisioner Randy Ambrosie.

Additional details around Touchdown Pacific 2024, including ticketing information and festivities around the event will be announced at a later date.

This past summer Touchdown Atlantic drew a sellout crowd of more than 11,000 fans to Saint Mary’s University in Halifax for a CFL game where Toronto defeated Saskatchewan 31-13 on July 29.

The BC Lions host the 111th edition of the Grey Cup next November.
