Remembrance Day ceremonies to be held amid ‘uncertain global landscape’: premier
VANCOUVER — British Columbians will gather at cenotaphs across the province today to honour those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of their country.
Cities holding Remembrance Day ceremonies include Victoria, Vancouver, New Westminster, Kamloops and Kelowna.
They are among dozens across Canada, including a national ceremony in Ottawa that drew thousands of people who wore poppies and stood in silence as cannons boomed and military aircraft flew past.
Premier John Horgan is among those observing the day and says in a statement the ceremonies are occurring in an “uncertain global landscape.”
