COVID-19 outbreak announced at Nanaimo long-term care home

NANAIMO — Island Health announced a sizable COVID outbreak at a facility home to many vulnerable seniors.

Nine resident cases at Dufferin Place beside Nanaimo Hospital was announced by Island Health on Thursday, Jan 13.

The outbreak applies to the Cedar Unit at this time.

Island Health lists COVID-19 outbreaks at two other nearby care homes are still active: Kiwanis Village Lodge and Eden Gardens.
