Foul play ruled out in death of 21-year-old
NANAIMO — Police say a forensic autopsy showed a woman who’d been assaulted did not die of her injuries.
Nanaimo RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said the body of 21-year-old Deanna Williams was found the morning of June 2 in a tent near the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
Nothing indicated foul play at the time.
“Later that same day we received information she’d been assaulted the day before and sought out medical attention. Our Serious Crime Unit took over the investigation, video canvassing and talking to witnesses.”
