EARLIER – NANAIMO — A search is ongoing for a missing 56-year-old man who police say should not be approached.

Glenn Gustafson was last seen early Sunday, May 2 by his family, but has not been heard from since.

Police, aided by Nanaimo Search and Rescue, located Gustafson’s car on Nova St. in Harewood later on Sunday, however follow up searches were unable to find him. Nanaimo Police Dog Services were called in but couldn’t establish a track.

Crews are continuing to search the area around Nova St. in the hopes to locate him.

Gustafson is described as 6’2, 250 pounds and was last seen wearing jeans, a t-shirt and black jacket. The photo provided by Nanaimo RCMP is recent.

RCMP told NanaimoNewsNOW, Gustafson is considered a danger to himself and should not be approached due to a concern of the situation potentially escalating.

If you see Gustafson, call 9-1-1. If anyone has information on his location, contact 250-754-2345.
