NANAIMO — Another School District 68 facility is included on Island Health’s school exposure list.

Mountain View elementary school on East Wellington Rd. experienced a COVID-19 exposure event on Feb. 16, according to a late night tweet from SD68.

A single exposure event means one person later confirmed to have COVID-19 attended school during a time where they were potentially contagious.

Island Health’s contact tracing procedure will notify any close contacts to isolate.

It’s the first exposure event for Mountain View elementary and the only Nanaimo school featured on Island Health’s list as of Feb. 23.

Ladysmith secondary experienced a series of exposures between Feb. 8 and 18, while Lantzville’s Aspengrove school had similar exposures on Feb. 18 and 19.

Other SD68 schools which had previously experienced exposure events were removed from the list after the required 14 day notification period.
